"We cannot be victorious without fighting our battles."

- J. Jayme

I was inherently introvert and quite naïve on a lot of things. I had the tendency to stick with the safe side and be more of reactive rather than proactive.

Time has passed, I have learned that life is a battlefield and that it's a series of taking risks. God has revealed to me that the Christian journey is not a walk in a park, but a sail on an unpredictable waves of the ocean. Every waking moment comprises two choices: To fight in the battle and conquer, or to stay in a safehold and remain the same. And as I take my adventure, I have learned that the first option is always better.

My goodness! All my life, my faith has been tested in thousands of ways. And, no matter how difficult the situation may be, God eventually shows that every leap of faith I take is always worth it. I cannot move forward without facing my battles. Most of the times, if not always, every achievement or promotion God gives me requires me to step out in faith and leave my comfort zone first. That's how I have grown.

In the bible, 2 Samuel 23 gives honor to the mighty men of King David. The names listed were not raffle drawn. All of those were great men of valor proving themselves worthy of the distinction. One of which was the The Tachmonite who "lift[ed] up his spear against eight hundred whom he slew at one time." Then, another one, Eleazar who "arose and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword" of which God rewarded him the victory. And Shammah, who while facing a troop of Philistines gathered together, "stood in the midst of the ground and defended it, and slew the Philistines." Then, there comes a list of around thirty more men being acknowledged for their heroism.

One thing common among them is that God brought them to victory as they courageously faced their battles and exceptionally persevered to win.

Failure is when we run away from the perfect will of God because of fear and complacency. The battles of this life are never easy, but when we're walking on the path that God leads us, all the hardships, trials, persecutions and struggles will eventually be overcome, only if we choose to take that leap of faith.

What are the battles that you're facing today? Face it with faith and strength in God. Be willing to take risks and be victorious!
