"I am [Jesus] the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." - John 10:9

The phrase "find pasture" struck me at first sight during my devotion this morning. Then, I read it again and again, indulging myself into those words. "Find pasture." Jesus is not only offering salvation through His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave; He gives us rest. Spiritual rest as the way to salvation has been made easy and simple for... mankind: Accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16). Physical and mental rest as we can be assured of God's provision for our daily needs and comfort from life's daily troubles (Matthew 6:25-30). Emotional rest as we can take His yoke upon us for it is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:28-29). We can rest on His promises for He will always keep them. We can rest on the assurance that nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). We can find pasture on the comfort of knowing that we can never be plucked from the Father's hand (John 10:28-29).

As we go back to our busy and complex daily routines, let us be reminded of Jesus as our Shepherd who "makes us lie down in green pastures" (Psalm 23:2). By coming to Jesus, we can find peace, joy, love, comfort, and rest. He is enough for us.
