God's Caretaker

Today, I spent quite an hour analyzing my finances and expenses for the past two months. I've realized how huge I've been spending on food and books, giving in to so much cravings. And so, I have decided to ban myself from buying any books for two straight months because I believe I hoarded a lot and some are still unread, squeezing them in on my pretty small bookshelf. Also, I set a limit on my monthly spending for food, not to mention, I'm cutting down my calorie intake too.... I have been so convicted about my personal issues on self-indulgence and thank God for the wisdom on how to deal with them. I truly believe that God is concerned on how we manage the resources that He gives. When I think about it, I don't really own anything in this world. I am just God's caretaker. "My" money is not mine, it's God's; so I have to spend wisely and keep in mind that tithing is a must. This body is not mine; it's also His so I must take care of it and strive to be healthy as a temple of the Holy Spirit. The resource of time is not mine as well, so I have to be efficient and spend my time on valuable matters. The talents and gifts that I have are God-given and should be utilized on glorifying the Lord and as tools on being the light of this world.
I hope I'm making sense on this. So today, may you also reflect on how are you as God's caretaker?
